Kibingo washing station, located in northern Burundi, serves 1,793 registered coffee growers across the region’s mountainous landscape. The coffee farms range from 5,500 to 6,200 feet above sea level. Equipped with 10 fermentation tanks, 2 soaking tanks, and a drying field with 165 drying tables, the station processes up to 1.65 million pounds of coffee per day.
Beyond its coffee processing operations, Kibingo is actively involved in a number of farmer outreach and support projects. These include livestock rearing, producing organic fertilizer from coffee pulp, and operating a nursery with subsidized coffee seedlings. These projects help strengthen cooperatives, improve yields, and promote the responsible management of agricultural byproducts.
